A.T.K MINING COMPANY LTD is a Ghanaian owned limited liability company duly registered in June 2012 and incorporated under the Companies Code of Ghana 1963 (Act 179) to do business in the gold mining industry.
In August 2021, the company was granted an eleven (11) years mining lease by the Ministries of Lands and Natural Resources for its approximately 6.16 sq.km concession in the Akyem Asamama-Asunafo traditional area of the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region of Ghana to enable it carry out sustainable commercial alluvial gold mining on the concession.
The Company, through the Minerals commission has acquired an 11 year lease (August 2021 to August 2032) to undertake gold mining in a 6.16 km squared concession.
Per the prospecting works undertaken, the delineated resource and reserves and the proposed operational method, the company can operate for about 18 years.
Locations of Operations and Proposed Permit area
The proposed area of operations to commercialize the gold mining is the Asamama Asunafo area in the Atiwa West District for which an environmental permit is
being sought.
The concession comprises of a total area 6.16 km squared which is divided into 2 parts namely
- Block A Asunafo measuring 2.55 km squared is to the north of the main course of the Birim River
- Block B Asamama measuring 3.61 km squared is to the South of the main course of the Birim River
